Biographical / Historical

The Jacob Rhodes Family Papers was presented to the Livermore Library in August of 2001 along with another collection, the August W. Fuller Papers. They were presented by former Judge and local historian, Henry A. McKinnon and are on permanent loan to us from Historic Robeson, Inc. This collection was originally curated by the family of Hugh Bentley Rhodes, the great-great grandson of Jacob Rhodes, and made its way from the Rhodes Family home in Arkansas back to Robeson County, where Jacob was born. We have left this collection in its original arrangement. It includes many items relating to the life of Jacob Rhodes, his son, Dr. Richard Clinton Rhodes, and other members of their family in addition to other important individuals in Robeson County's history. You will find correspondence, receipts, land grants, and more. Not all of this collection is in a condition to be digitized, so to view the entire collection, please make an appointment with Special Collections. *Please note this collection contains materials that may be triggering to some viewers.
